French Class Students Visit with Holocaust Survivor

The French classes at Patrick Henry & Holston recently finished a lesson on the French involvement during World War 2 and the role of the French resistance and Nazi collaborators and the impact that has had on the French culture. They had the opportunity to attend King University and hear from Holocaust & refugee survivor, Esther Starobin. Esther was 2 years old when she was sent via Kindertransport to live with a foster family in England. Esther never saw her parents again as they died in Auschwitz concentration camp. She shared the story of love and sacrifice as her parents found a way for her and her (4) siblings to escape Germany and how their bond as a family grew even after such a tragic loss.
