HHS Band Recognized With High Honor at Competition

On Saturday, November 4, 2017, the Holston High School Marching Cavaliers traveled to Salem, VA to compete in the Virginia Marching Band Championships. The event is an annual state-wide marching band competition. The Marching Cavaliers competed in Class A against other bands from across the Commonwealth including larger localities such as Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Richmond, and Northern Virginia. When results were announced, the Cavaliers received the award for 4th place among all Virginia’s Class A schools.  In addition, the Cavs came in 16th Place among all Virginia bands, regardless of band classification. The band looks forward to returning to the Championship competition next year with an eye toward ranking even higher.  Holston’s faculty and staff congratulate the band and its director, Mr. Logan Childress.
