HHS Students Use New Equipment to Test Water Quality

The HHS Environmental Science class recently tested water samples around the Holston campus using new equipment purchased from Vernier . Students worked to measure dissolved oxygen, temperature, and pH of the stream and fish pond. They will use the data they collected, using the Go Direct Sensors, to determine overall water quality to compare the two sites. The technology matches up great- they seemed to find it easy to connect to their smart devices and had no trouble toggling through the options, such as data display and units of measurement. This was essentially a workshop to familiarize students with the probe ware. Their final project is coming up and it will be a culmination of their water quality research.
