HHS U.S. History Students Tour Monticello

On March 24-25, 11th and 12th grade GATE students and dual enrollment U.S. History students enjoyed a whirlwind trip including three college campus visits and a tour of Monticello.  Students were given guided tours at Radford University and Virginia Tech including their residence halls and classroom and dining facilities.  The following day students were privileged to receive a 3 hour guided tour of Monticello, home of Thomas Jefferson, made possible through the Charles Angel scholarship fund.  After leaving Monticello, students were able to experience Thomas Jefferson's vision for learning by a trip to the historic part of the University of Virginia's campus including the Rotunda and the Lawn.
