Solar Eclipse Information for HHS Parents and Students

On Monday, August 21, 2017, for the first time since 1918, a solar eclipse will be visible on a path across the United States.  Our school division will be in the path of the solar eclipse around 2:30 pm or so.  We are planning to make this once in a lifetime event a unique learning experience, including all content areas, for our students.
Due to the event occurring late in the school day, Washington County Schools will be in session with a 30 minute delayed dismissal(3:40) for the purposes of safety and educational experience.
Information about the eclipse can be found here Solar Eclipse 2017-WCPS.pdf along with the permission form Solar Eclipse Viewing Permission Slip - WCPS.pdf that all parents/guardians must sign in order for their student to be allowed to participate in this event.  You may have already received a copy of the permission form from your student.  Please sign the form and have your student return the form to their first period teacher or to the main office.  Students must have the permission form signed before or on Friday, August 18 in order to participate.
